Trevor Nelson was the host at Skydome (where was held the traditional bottle-smashing event) while Sara Cox hosted the beachside event (at Heywoods Beach/broadcasted live on YouTube, also featuring live performances by Olly Murs). Both DJs also attended the March 11th voyage and hosted late-night deck parties. Arvia's naming ceremony was remembered for the breaking (in the hull) of the world’s largest bottle of rum - Mount Gay Rum's Black Barrel - in a specially made 15-liter glass bottle. A replica of the 15L Black Barrel (demijohn bottle) remained on the liner. A 970m² retractable SkyDome glass roof is the special entertainment feature of the cruise ship. Located on decks 16 and 17, SkyDome includes SeaScreen, which offers both blockbuster movies and classic movie singalongs.
Arvia Cruise Ship Deck Plan Disperses Passengers Well
On March 6, 2020, were announced three aerial acrobatic shows designed for MS Iona (available on MS Arvia too) - Rise (birds-themed), Dream (magic-themed) and Triboo (battle between the Moon and Sun tribes). Rise and Triboo are performed at the SkyDome, while Dream is at the Atrium. Two new for P&O UK aerial shows (Virtuosi, Spark) were developed for MS Iona and available on Arvia too. As soon as you step on board, you’ll be greeted by the stunning Arvia Grand Atrium. This impressive bright-colored space is flooded with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows on either side of the atrium.
New and exciting restaurants
Its curving stairways and great use of light and amazing chandelier are a testament to the Ship’s architects. The hull design of the vessel can minimise drag and is equipped with the latest energy-efficient technology on board.

We love the modern concept of Green & Co, with a focus on vegan, vegetarian and flexitarian dishes, offering food pairings, cocktails and striking sea views. If you're a fan of sushi, plump for a seat at Mizuhana, within Green & Co., to watch chefs prepare fresh dishes at the lively counter bar. P&O Cruises' new cruise ship, the 5,200-passenger Arvia, debuts in December 2022 with a number of new-to-the-line features that are already getting us excited to step onboard.
P&O announces 3 new Wellbeing & Lifestyle cruises
There are many other bars throughout the ship including several in the atrium and three in and around the SkyDome. Arvia bars all offer P&O’s own brand gin and rum, made in the onboard distillery. The best place to try this is in the gin bar Anderson’s, ideally placed for a pre- or post-dinner tipple. The 6th Street Diner is one of the most popular alternate dining venues on Arvia. At the other end of the ship, the Club House is a show lounge used for everything from bingo and guest speakers through to live music from the house band in the evenings.
Arvia cruise ship design and technical specifications
While there are some cabins on Deck 16 (the same level as the Horizon buffet) the vast majority of staterooms are located on Decks 9 to 15. The cruise ship is powered by a 61,760kW, eco-friendly LNG drive system with a propulsion power of 37MW. The LNG-powered propulsion system enables the vessel to sail at a maximum speed of 21.5 knots. Meyer Werft delivered Arvia in December 2022, with the ship entering service the same month.

The ship also introduces the fleet's first "Conservation Mini-Suite" cabin category. The stateroom features a separate, conservatory-style area as a cabin extension. Offering more flexibility, this lounge room is furnished with an L-shaped sofa and can be left open or closed off. The conservatory opens out fully and leads directly onto the suite's balcony.

As the second in P&O Cruises Excel Class, Arvia cruise ship is structurally identical to sister ship Iona. The 3-deck high Grand Atrium is located midship and has an open-floor design. With a choice of 30 venues, Arvia has many food and beverage bars open from early-morning until late-night. Arvia has more than 30 bars and restaurants, but whereas sister ship Iona has four main dining rooms, Arvia only has two. One is the included 6th Street Diner -- a hugely popular all-American diner with a gourmet Southern twist.
What to Expect in Cabins on Arvia Cruise Ship

"The Club House" (Deck 8) is a multi-purpose indoor/outdoor space for families to enjoy afternoon entertainment and play fun games. In the evening, it becomes a late-night "music hall" for dancing and live performances by Arvia ship's band (named "Pulse"). (Deck 6) "The 710 Club" has a stylish cocktail bar lounge served by professional mixologists.
While Arvia lacks the brash water parks and daredevil slides of the biggest cruise ships at sea, there are some modern attractions that will suit younger guests. From a rope climbing course at the very top of the ship to an escape room, casino, and even a three-screen cinema, Arvia is packed with things to do no matter what type of cruise you enjoy. The nighttime entertainment continues down on the main decks, where you’ll find the Headliners Theater. Entertainment here includes lively variety shows by the ship’s resident theater company, as well as performances from visiting artists. This is a group gaming experience based on motion simulation technology and interactive consoles. The underwater adventure is set onboard the fictional submarine "Arvia II" and led by Dr Melissa Ryan.
The ship's fitness center (Gym & Health Club) is fitted with the latest Technogym equipment and served by personal trainers. Fitness classes include Body Sculpt Bootcamp, Tour de Cycle, Functional Stretch, Yoga and Pilates, spinning. The Gym also features the latest Evolt 360 (advanced body composition scanners) generating unique 360-degree pictures of the body's physical conditioning in order to set individual goals. Professional well-being consultants provide advice on sleep, stress, and nutrition management.
The policy allows passengers to choose where, when and with whom they prefer to eat. For cruise liner's hotel facilities and amenities were contracted the companies Richmond International (London UK), The Four Seasons Moscow, Langham Hotel, and Sandy Lane Hotel (Barbados). Passenger cabins were designed by Partner Ship Design (Hamburg Germany).
(Deck 6) "Ocean Studios" is a boutique cinema with comfortable plush seating and 4x screens running throughout the day classic movies and recently released blockbusters. P&O Cruises is a subsidiary company and two brands owned by Carnival Corporation - P&O UK and P&O Australia. In 2000, P&O Cruises became subsidiary of P&O Princess Cruises, which in 2003 merged with Carnival Corporation.

The keel block had weight 570 tonnes, length 11,3 m (37 ft), width 42 m (138 ft) height 11,8 m (39 ft), and was lifted by an 800-ton gantry crane. In October, Arvia’s first cruise was rescheduled from December 9th to December 23rd (due to delayed delivery). The Transatlantic crossing (RepositionCruises.com) from Europe to the Caribbean (departure January 6, 2023) was from Southampton to Bridgetown Barbados (15-day), and to St John's Antigua (22-day). The Photo Gallery & Shop sells exclusive photoshoots (made by the ship's professional photographers) and also includes the new "360" photo booth (for making photos with attractive surrounding scenery). "The Ivory Suite" (Deck 17, adjacent to Crow's Nest and Epicurean) is the ship's chapel - a dedicated venue for weddings and vow renewals at sea. No matter where you choose to cruise on P&O Arvia, you’re sure to have an incredible time exploring these amazing ports of call.
The night entertainment includes on-roof media projections, laser shows, aerial acrobatics performances, DJ disco parties, theatrical productions, movies (on a large LED screen). For extra space there's also a Deluxe Balcony cabin costing less than a mini-suite but with nearly as much floor space. If privacy is important to you then Balcony cabins to avoid (including those which are suites) are on Deck 8. That’s because these balconies are all on the same level as the wraparound promenade. Walkers and runners lapping the Promenade Deck (of which there are many) pass these balconies every time they circuit the ship. They can also see INTO the cabin which means that you need to close curtains every time you require privacy.
If you’re looking for entertainment on board P&O Arvia, you won’t be disappointed. The ship offers a wide variety of shows and activities to keep you entertained throughout your cruise. As you would expect from a modern cruise ship, It is equipped with all the latest technology, including high-speed Wi-Fi, interactive displays, and state-of-the-art entertainment systems.
